On Wednesday 14th May both 1st Year groups were brought to Oweninny Wind Farm where they were given an excellent talk on space which they have just covered in science class. Students were given the opportunity to walk right up to a wind turbine. They also visited Belleek Woods in Ballina where they carried out a small ecology activity testing the pond’s pH and taking leaf impressions which was ran by Ms O’Shaughnessy. The students along with Ms Kelly investigated the effect that exercise has on their pulse rate.
